Two Horse-y Cards

To start off this post, I wanted to let you know that Really Reasonable Ribbon is having a fantastic blog candy giveaway. I don't know about you, but I'd love to win all that delicious ribbon.

I have two horse-y cards to share with you today. My sister and I have been working on these together. She loves to color the images and then I make the cards :) She colors with Prisma Markers. The first card features Audrey on Horseback from The Stamping Boutique. I used grape and spring green seam binding for my ribbons.

Here's the inside. I used a Debbie Mumm rub-on to accent the area I leave for a message.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Sketch Saturday #157 - sketch - Check out their great blog hop, too!
2. Do You Stack Up #21 - animals

My second card is for a Dad. That's what the little metal tag says - it's a little hard to read. The image is from the old Cowgirl Stampin store. The sentiment says "A little dirt never hurt."
Here's the inside. I love these bandana-style papers.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Charisma Cardz #21 - boy oh boy
3. Lexi's Creations #41 - Father's Day
4. Craft Your Passion #60 - What a Guy

What I've been up to this weekend

I've been in the craft room a lot this weekend, but haven't done much crafting. DH has redone the craft room closet with shelves and I've been organizing. I still haven't fit everything in, but I CAN see the floor of the craft room now! DH even ran the vacuum.

Tilda with a Birthday Cake

I have an extra-sweet Tilda for you today. I've been working on trying to color Tilda with Copics. I'm not happy with her outfit, but I love this hair color! I added lots of glitter because birthdays need extra sparkle.

I followed the sketch at Just Magnolia #107 for this card. I'd also like to enter the card in wee memories #57 - stamp it and ABC Challenge - V is for Violet.

The image is If the Shoe Fits by The Stamping Boutique. I colored it with Copics. I added greys (C series) to the inside of the shoe to make it darker. Thanks for the great tip Zoe!

TLL Digi Day - You Better Shape Up Challenge

(1st post) I'm going to have four posts tonight to show all the projects I made for The Latte Lounge May Digi Day. You have until Wednesday to enter the challenges. There is a great prize for each one!

My first card is for the You Better Shape Up Challenge. The challenge is sponsored by The Stamping Boutique.

I tried a shaped easel card. I looked for a tutorial to show me how to do the support pieces, but I didn't find anything - so I "winged" it (laughing quietly at the pun with a fairy image :)

I used Lazy Cynthia. Doesn't that cloud look comfy. I cut the image into separate pieces to fit on the card. The sentiment is also from The Stamping Boutique.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. A Spoon Full of Sugar #152 - anything goes
2. Creative Craft World - anything but square
3. ABC Challenge - U is for unusual fold - I hope a shaped easel card is unusual enough.

Christmas Joy Fold

So my fingers have been itching to stamp since my new Tickled Pink Lil Victorian Steampunk stamps arrived earlier this week. I saw the joyfold tutorial at ABC Christmas and I thought I'd combine the two!

Here's the front of my card. I used TPS Cherrie with Mail and I colored her with Copics. The paper is DCWV.
Here it is with the flaps open. You can see the hidden tag. I thought it would be fun to include a tag in a Christmas card that could be used as a bookmark over the holiday season.
And here's the tag featuring Steampunk Evie. I love her dress!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. ABC Christmas - J is for joyfold - thanks for the great tutorial!
4. Truly Scrumptions #57 - anything goes
5. Craft Us Crazy #8 - something new - I used a new stamp.

Greeting Farm Cards for a Cause

I think this is my last (3rd) card for The Greeting Farm's Card for a Cause campaign. I really like sending cards to brighten up the days of a few Japanese kids. I hope they like them too!

I used Cowgirl Anya. I colored her with Copics on Make it Crafty paper. I used some large paper letters to spell out howdy. I've been trying to keep these cards fairly flat as I'm not sure how they'll travel in Japan. I've used some felt embellishments to finish the card.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. icsketches #115 - sketch
2. iCopic #30 - color blond hair - I used Y18, Y15, and Y11

Altered Journal

First, some news - JLJ Designs is sponsoring the challenge at Crafty Sentiments this week. The prize is a $10 gift certificate to my store. The challenge this week is buttons.

I had hoped to post this earlier this week, but blogger conspired against me : ) I've altered a simple journal that I got from my sister. I added Magnolia images to the front and back.

On the front side I used, Tilda with her kitten. I made a little swing for her using a die cut, some fancy fiber and sparkly buttons. I colored her with Copics.

For the back side, I stamped a dancing Tilda on Kraft and colored her hair. I paper pieced her dress and shoes using the same paper I used for the background.

I'd like to enter this journal in the following challenge:
Totally Tilda #22 - Tilda with her cat or dog

Make it Dotty at Make it Colourful

This week at Make It Colourful it's Dotty Backgrounds. We're sponsored this week by Crissy Armstrong. For an added bonus, anyone who uses a Make It Crafty image will be entered into a drawing for two MIC Digis!

I'm late with my card. I've been under the weather the last few days. I wanted to try out these dotty backgrounds, though. They're so much fun. I used Crissy's tutorial for inspiration. I love the fantasy look that this kind of background can give. I used Whimsical Mushroom (it's on sale right now!) and Alyssa Elvin Princess from Make It Crafty. I colored it with Copics. I used BG10, B000, BV000, and V000 to do the sky dots. I used G82 and G40 for the grass.

The Greeting Farm Cards for a Cause Campaign 2011

Before I get to TGF's Cards for a Cause and my card, I've been remiss in several Thank Yous. I've had much good fortune with prizes recently. My memory book won the challenges at TSB's Royal Wedding Challenges at SNR. Thank you Stacie and crew for motivating me to try something new.

I had a great time at the Fresh Brewed Designs chat at The Latte Lounge the other night. My beachy card won too! Thanks girls for being there for me.

My Asian travel journal won Honorable Mention at Digis with Attitude!

I've also won the CK Scrappers prize from the Sunday Sketch and Stamp blog hop and the Heartsongs Designs prize from the IC Sketches blog hop. Finally, I won a gift certificate in the bunny game from Creative Clear Stamps.

Did you know about The Greeting Farm's 2011 Cards for a Cause Campaign? They are collecting cards for the students of Takasago Japan. These are cards of encouragement for the victims of the recent earthquakes. You have got to read the info on TGF website.

I'm hoping to make several cards for this campaign. Not just because I love TGF and would love to win stamps, but because I feel it's a really important cause.

My first card features Cuddle Anya from The Greeting Farm. I think she's a lovely stamp for this purpose. I colored her with Copics. The papers are from my Pink and Chocolate paper pack. I added brown lace and flowers from my stash. I'll be writing a nice message on the inside - something along the lines of "thinking of you." I may have to break out my old Japanese text books and see how far I can get.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Here Comes the Bride

I told you earlier this week about my windfall from Fresh Brewed Designs. Here's my first card using one of the images I won - Beautiful Bride. I colored her just a little with Copics and then added LOTS of Stickles. She's very sparkly.

The pink paper is from my Hearts and Flowers paper pack. I went a little nuts with the embellishments, too, but, hey, it's a wedding. I used a Prima ribbon with flowers, a butterfly, more flowers, and a sticker that says "On Your Wedding."

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Wrapping up the Weekend

As many of you know, it was a very rough weekend for our family. We had to have our beloved cat Emerson (aka Esserman, aka Pudge) put to sleep. He had a very aggressive cancer. We miss him greatly and he will always be loved.
Rest in Peace
Emerson (April 2001 - April 29, 2011)

I have to say that I am so thankful for all of the wonderful ladies atThe Latte Lounge during my difficult time. Heather of Fresh Brewed Designs had planned for a chat on Friday night, which I looked forward to to get through my tough day. It turned out to be a lucky evening for me - I won two digis and a rubber stamp - on top of themonthly FBD challenge at The Latte Lounge that I'd won earlier that day (5 digis).

Heather gave us two challenges for the Beach party. One was a card with hot pink and sunny yellow and bling and the second was a beach themed tag. Peanut used Beach Accessories rubber stamps to make her tag. She added glitter and bling and a ribbon from the recent TLL ribbon exchange. I had bought some beach fabric confetti from the deep discount bin to use on another project, but decided I didn't need it, so we cracked into it for these projects. You can see a sheer blue seashell on Peanut's tag.

Here's my card. I combined the Beach Accessories rubber stamps from Fresh Brewed Designs with The Stamping Boutique's Summer Laundry Line. I colored the image with Copics. I tried to do a sky likeAnnika, but couldn't quite figure it out. I'll have to keep practicing. I do like the pale blue for the sky.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. ICSketches #112 - sketch (sponsored by FBD!)
2. Copic Creations #49 - sky/clouds

For the tag challenge, I went crazy with the glitter modge podge and the sea themed fabric confetti. They're very bright and sparkly. I used some new beach stickers and the Beach Accessories rubber stamps from Fresh Brewed Designs.
Don't forget the JLJ Designs challenge at The Latte Lounge. There's a 25% off coupon to get you started!
