Provence with Crafter's Companion

Hi all!  I'm sharing a card on the Crafter's Companion Blog featuring the new Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Scenic Provence.  I love these beautiful scenic stamps and I wanted to focus on the scene on my card.

I stamped the courtyard scene and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers (you can see my color cheat sheet below).  I also stamped the grapes twice.  I haven't played much with the purple markers and I'm loving the rich color.  When I finished coloring, I mounted my scene on cardstock and made a simple card with paper from my stash. I fussy cut the grapes and added them to the top of the scene with pop dots.  I feel like I could jump right in!

The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan - Pink

Our challenge this fortnight at The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan is pink.  I LOVE pink.  Peanut even knows it's my favorite color and chose pink nail polish for me when we went to the salon the other day.  When I saw the new release, The Little Things by Bella Gypsy, I knew that it would be perfect for my pink card.  I printed out the papers and the sentiment subway art. I used a Tim Holtz die on my Big Shot to create flowers out of the papers.  I don't think I've ever inked up this Surfing Tilda before.  I thought she'd be great for enjoying the little things.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Tildas Town #2 - water fun
3. Crafts and Me - fabulous flowers
4. Wags 'n Whiskers #80 - summer fun

My Sister's Birthday Card

When I saw the new release from Little Miss Muffet this week, I knew that Kiara would be perfect for my sister's birthday card.  My sister has two sweet Boston Terriers and I tried to color Kiara to look like my neph-dog.  My sister and I are going shopping this weekend to celebrate her birthday. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Crafter's Companion.  I colored the image with Copics on Make It Colour paper.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Little Miss Muffet #35 - anything goes
2. CLP Challenge #47 - sketch
3. Charisma Cardz #20 - no flowers allowed

A little birdie told me...

Don't forget to enter my Crafter's Companion Giveaway!  It's the last one for this month.

Hi all! I'm sharing a sweet S.W.A.L.K card on the Crafter's Companion blog today.

I chose A Little Bird for my card.  I stamped the image on Ultrasmooth Premium Cardstock and colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers.  I chose a fun bright blue for the bird and continued the colors onto her dress.

I trimmed the image by hand to give it a rounded oval shape matching the sentiment.  The card is 6"x6" and I used papers from my stash.  I'm still having fun with feathers, and I thought they'd be perfect accents for this bird-y card.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Shopping Our Stash #52 - bingo - patterned paper, blue, sentiment, ribbon, tag

Pink and Navy Tilda

I had a little more time this weekend to play and I inked up Tilda with Anchor.  I love her swingy fun hair.  Pink and navy blue were my wedding colors.  I thought they'd be nautical and girly on my card.  I  kept the card fairly clean and simple in keeping with the nautical theme.  The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher.  Isn't it perfect for this stamp?

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Just Magnolia #157 - sketch
2. Paper Sundaes - pretty in pink

Cupcake Inspirations Sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs

We have a yummy challenge for you at Cupcake Inspirations this week!  We're sponsored this week by Fresh Brewed Designs.  Peanut and I are keeping the ice cream theme going with our cards.

Peanut was sick with a cold this weekend and wanted to hang out with me in the craft room.  She wanted to color just like me.  Flattery will get you everywhere!  Here's Peanut's card with Banana Split from Fresh Brewed Designs.

I used Banana Split from Fresh Brewed Designs for my card too.  I was inspired by the colors in the inspiration cupcake picture.  Also, the cupcakes seem to be covered with sprinkles to give them texture and I translated that to lots of glitter.  Here's my yummy card:

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Cute Card Thursday #217 - touch of sparkle
2. Card Crafter's Circle #23 - sparkle, sparkle

Two Tilda Cards

I carved out some time today to play with the Magnolia stamps from the recent stamp club release.  I've been super busy recently and haven't had time to do any crafting outside of my DT work.  Since we skipped a birthday party today (Peanut is sick), Peanut and I crafted instead.

I want to share two cards with the same Water Lily Tilda stamp.  The first card is clean and simple.  I'm borrowing this style from Delphine, who inspires me with every card she makes.  I love the use of white space.  I stamped Tilda and the sentiment on white card and doodled a border.  I added a little purple cardstock frame to bring out the purple in her dress.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Midweek Magnolias #11 - big white space
2. Tilda's Town #1 - anything goes

For my second card, I used the same image, but went in the opposite direction from clean and simple.  I added all sorts of embellies.  I was inspired by the colors in Yanitza's card - pink and yellow looks so fresh.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. TOMIC #50 - sketch + inspiration photo + use yellow
2. Crafty Catz #133 - girly time
3. Allsorts #155 - buttons and bows

Sometimes Ice Cream...

...is the best medicine.  It's been one of THOSE weeks.  I have today off and thought I would color something just for fun.  I love the new Frenchie images from Make It Crafty.   I chose French Claudine for my card.  I really wanted to focus on the coloring so I made the image large and chose a plain background/design.  I colored the image with Copics on Make It Colour paper.  The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Cupcake Craft #192 - no design paper birthday
2. Simon Says - clean and simple
3. The Paper Shelter #64 - birthday cards with sentiment

I'm hoping I can convince DH to take Peanut and I out for strawberry milkshakes.  This card makes me hungry!

Inspiration Blooms Craft Kit Collaboration

Paper Garden Projects and Joyful Heart Designs have teamed up for Inspiration Blooms Craft Kit.  It's a perfect kit to make your own hybrid craft journal.

I've been wanting to make a coloring journal for a long time and the new kit finally got me started.  Here's the front cover.  I bound it with rings that open easily so I can add more pages.

I used the tabbed pages to create my own coloring pages.  I added a little plaque at the bottom to write the colors and the stamp credits.  Here I used Sitting Jane by Make It Crafty.  I cropped the image and printed out several heads since I wanted to focus on hair colors.

I used three different color paper borders and plaques.  I love caramel colored hair - it reminds me of Peanut.

Here's my last page.  You can see I need to get coloring.

Texture, Texture

Hi all!  It's my day to post on the Crafter's Companion Information Blog.  I've been muddling over my plain Jane cards recently.  I love papers mounted on cardstock and a nice design...then I get stuck!

I started today with Swinging By from A Year with Humphrey.

After coloring the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, I chose papers to match the dress.  I cut out two 3 1/2" squares and one 3" square and layed them out on my card base.  This is where I usually get stuck.  The other day I bought some tulle, gold netting and feathers and I decided to give them all a try on this card.  Surprisingly, I was really pleased with the effect.  I love all the texture these add to the card.  I still have the nicely mounted papers and now I have a bigger visual punch!

Can't wait to see what texture inspires you!
