Glitterbabe's Challenge DT Card #14 - embossing

This is my last DT card for Glitterbabe's Challenge. I'll be back though as I'll be sponsoring the challenge regularly. We're sponsored this week by Ellephantastic and the prize is four wonderful digis. You should check out Helen's blog as she also has some great freebies available.

The challenge this week is embossing. This was particularly a challenge for me as I have no tools to create embossed paper. Stef, Glitterbabe herself, took pity on me and sent me a delightful package in the mail. She even included some papers for Peanut!

I'll start with Peanut's card today. The DT used Snowman, which Peanut colored with colored pencils. She used a pink embossed card that Stef sent and added a pink flower from Michael's, rhinestones, buttons, and blue glitter. I really love her color combo on this one!
I used the same image for my card, also colored with colored pencils. I added glitter to the snow, scarf, and bird. I used a red holiday embossed paper with a snowflake paper from my stash. I added red buttons to the image and a Prima flower to finish the card.

Owl Be Making Christmas Presents

Candy alert - Bev has great candy available on her blog.

I've been working on Christmas presents for family and friends. I'm making a couple of card sets for my Grandma and my friend. I found a tutorial for a card purse that I thought would make a nice wrapper for the cards. This one is for my Grandma. It was really easy to make!

I used Owlie from Some Odd Girl, which I won from Cupcake Inspirations last week. I colored Owlie with watercolor pencils. I added paper from GCD Studio. The blue paper is a die cut for a 12" x 12" scrapbook page, but I used the outside.

I'd like to enter this card purse in the following challenges:
1. Cupcake Inspirations #78 - I love this challenge. Not only do you get a fun challenge, you get to look at pics of nummy desserts.

My First Magnolia and Candy Winner

First things first, I had a candy over the weekend for winner's choice of my new digis or digital scrapbooking kit. I used random.org, but couldn't figure out how to paste the image. The winner is ABusyBee. Send me an email at jljdesigns at cox dot net and let me know if you'd like the digi stamp pack or the digital scrapbooking pack. I'm feeling generous, so Hestia's Helper, Skylark, and Lisa (ThePurplePlace), if you email me with your choice of a digistamp I'll send you one of the new stamps.

This is my first Magnolia card. I've had this Tilda for a while, but something was stopping me from coloring her. My mom bought me some new Magnolia's for my belated birthday, so I thought I'd better get over my coloring problem. I used colored pencils and added Stickles to her dress. I added a happy birthday from a stamp set that I didn't keep the packaging for. The silver lace in the back is a doily that I cut up. I finished the card with purple Prima flowers with rhinestone brad centers and rhinestones in the corners. I've had the paper for a long time in my stash.

This card is the first in a set that I'm making a friend for Christmas.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Just Magnolia #74 - sketch
2. Totally Tilda Challenge #6 - glitter and sparkle

Two Cards, Too Late

I stayed up WAY too late last night cropping with Robyn and Tammy at I Did It Creations Forum. I played at The Stamping Boutique's digi day earlier in the evening and won two images! There's still time to join in the digi day challenges.

Before I share my projects from last night, some news:
Jacqui has sweet candy and a beautiful card to see on her blog.
Check out my new release candy here. Just leave a comment to win my new digi stamps or scrapbooking kit.
Finally, I won over at Cupcake Inspirations! I'm rea
lly excited because I really love Some Odd Girl - the sponsor last week.

Here are my projects. There are lots of photos because Robyn had us working on lots of constructions!

Our first project was a box for 3x3 notecards, using the tutorial here. I used Chilly Kitten from Some Odd Girl. The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo at Sentimental Sundays. I colored the image with colored pencils and chalked around the edge of the sentiment. I used paper and lace from my stash.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:

2. Sentimental Sunday #22 - dimensional - I don't know if this counts as dimensional, but it's not flat!

Our second project was to make a pop-up card using the wonderful image from Stitchy - Alexandria. She's on sale right now at 31% off! I colored her with watercolor pencils. I ended up making the tag twice, so I have a tag that matches the card. I added paper from GCD Studio (black with flowers) and my Halloween paper pack (purple polka dots). I added a stamped sentiment, ribbon flowers, and a gem (Peanut's contribution). There's purple organza and a sparkly brad on the tag so you can pull it out.

Halloween New Releases with Cards and Candy

It's been a while since I had a new release. I'm still recovering from the August digi-a-day download. Today, I have Halloween releases and cards from Peanut and myself featuring the new images. Make sure you read all the way to the end for a chance at CANDY! CANDY IS NOW CLOSED.

I have four Halloween new release digi stamps - Ghost Bear, Trick-or-Treat Bear, Witch Bear, and Halloween Accessories. These stamps are available until Oct. 31 as a stamp pack for $5. You can also get each stamp individually.

I also have a Halloween digital scrapbooking kit for $4.50. You can also get the paper pack separately for $2.

Here are my and Peanut's projects featuring the digistamps and papers above. This card has Trick-or-Treat bear colored with watercolor pencils. The yellow and orange papers are from the Halloween paper pack. I added flowers and stickers saying "Happy Halloween." The message is a little hard to read because the stickers are reflective.
The second project features Ghost Bear on a 2-5-7-10 box. I used the orange polka dot paper from the Halloween paper pack printed on cardstock for the box. Ghost bear is colored with watercolor pencils and glitter glue.

Last, but not least, I have Peanut's project using Witch bear. She colored her with Crayola markers. She wanted me to put the image on a green card. She added blue glitter and several sparkly things.
Would you like to win either the digistamp pack or the digital scrapbooking kit? Leave a comment on this post by Monday at 5 pm central time. CANDY IS NOW CLOSED.

This week at Glitterbabe's Challenge we have a sketch challenge. I really like the layers in this sketch. I used Glitterbabe's Fancy Chick. I just love this image! I colored her with copics and added glitter to her wing, tail, and feathers. The leaf frame and sentiment are from Your Next Stamp. I added glitter chalk to the sentiment and the frame.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Peanut's Birthday

Today we had Peanut's birthday party, so no craft room for me today. We had a great birthday party at the local park. They have a spray park and it's still warm enough to play in the water.

It was a Dora the Explorer party. I made a cake. It's four layers and I had to carve part of it - my first carved cake. I made all the buttercream myself. The cars, bridge, and trees came as part of a Dora birthday cake set.

We made the invitations ourselves too. I found a backpack coloring sheet on Nick Jr. I erased map out of the image and copied his face into another image. We printed backpack on purple paper and cut her out. We printed out map on parchment and glued his face on the outside. The invitation is propped up on the party favor box. DH helped me with the favors which were inexpensive flashlights that we decorated with Dora stickers.

More Cards for OWH

So I'm on a roll this week with cards for Operation Write Home. I'll be headed to the post office tomorrow to mail today's cards and yesterday's cards. Today, I used Michelle Perkett's birthday card challenge for inspiration. I followed the sketch at Stampavie (#108) to make four cards. I added a Happy Birthday message to two of the Michelle Perkett images and left the other two plain. I colored the images with watercolor pencils. I added some Hawaiian themed stickers that I'd gotten as a free gift from Simon Says Stamp.

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Settle in for a read. I have two cards, several thank you's, and a contest to tell you about.

I was totally inspired by the Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge's Holiday Cards for Soldiers Campaign. They're collecting cards for Operation Write Home. I didn't think making one or two cards would make much of a difference, but I love that they'll be combined with all the challenge cards.

The challenge was for Christmas cards - here's my first. The especially hard part for me was to use no glitter or sparkles. I used Serenity from The Stamping Boutique. I colored her with watercolor pencils. I used paper and stickers from my stash.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge's Holiday Cards for Soldiers Campaign
4. Pile It On - Operation Write Home
5. Bah! Humbug! #35 - Favorite medium - definitely watercolor pencils!
6. Sarah Hurley #8 - snowflakes

The second card uses the same image, Serenity from The Stamping Boutique, but I've gone with a green color theme this time. The holly leaves are from the free sentiment set at Sentimental Sunday. I added some holly stickers and green paper from my stash. I'll be sending both cards to CJ on Wednesday to include in the Cowgirl Sunday Stamp'en Challenge package.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Now, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at my house today. I got two prize packages in the mail today, one last week, and a new Cardmaking and Papercraft. I won a card challenge at the I Did It Creations Forum and a prize, along with a button fairy from the exchange, winged their way to my house from Australia - thank you Wendy! I won the blog hop blinkie contest at Your Next Stamp - the entire September release! I also won Stampin' with the Dragon's birthday card challenge on Beth's blog. Beth sent a wonderful box full of stamps. Peanut kept sticking her hand in and pulling out more. We're going to be busy trying out all of our wonderful new surprises. Thank you so much!

Finally, a contest to tell you about. Some Odd Girl is having a naming contest for this cute little monkey. I'm putting in my nomination - how about you?
Thanks for hanging in with me for this long post!

Glitterbabe's Challenge #11 Color challenge DT Card

Yeah! It's Glitterbabe's Challenge day! This week it's a color challenge - red, purple, and light yellow. I used Glitterbabe's Fishing Chick. Too cute! I colored his rain jacket and hat yellow. I added red glitter to his hat and boots and red and white glitter around the image. I used a plain purple card, so the sparkle would really stand out.

This is the inside of the card with a sentiment. Somehow, fishing and excitin' on the same card seems funny to me!

Happy Scrapping!
