Happy Halloween!

I was in charge of the Halloween treat bag's for Peanut's class this year. I orginally thought to make a little paper bag, but it was vetoed at home as too small :-) I found these orange bags and the foam pumpkins at the dollar store. Then I thought about 18 excited preschoolers each with the exact same bag and I could see candy-induced fights breaking out. So I made a tag for each bag with the childrens' names on them. I used Hocus Pocus from geniaBeana Scraps and Cluster Queen Creations to make the tag (I love the little cats). Peanut helped me do the layout and she really wanted to have candy elements.

Treats and Templates from Meredith Cardall Designs

Meredith has two new releases today at 9th and Bloom! Treats Only is a great kit for scrapping your Halloween (and other) memories and Layered Up Vol 1 Templates. Have I told you that I'm TOTALLY into digi scrap templates recently? I use the png files with iScrapbook to create great layouts.

Here's my layout from Peanut's first Halloween. She's so SMALL! She really didn't like the hat. She's only 6 weeks old and we hadn't quite figured out how to make our family work yet.

Pumpkin Bag

I had fun with this little pumpkin bag template, which was one of the October Addicts Freebies at Brownie Scraps. I thought it would be perfect for the Autumn's Arrival packs from Meredith Cardall Designs. It's just starting to get chilly here so I'm starting to think about fall.

Template Challenge with Meredith Cardall Designs

There's a great template challenge on Meredith's blog - use the template and any Meredith Cardall Designs product to enter. I used Rainbow Wishes - one of my favorites - for a layout of Peanut's first birthday. I've been working my way through 2008 and it's so fun to see the change in Peanut between then and now!

Manic Monday with geniaBeana - Haunted

geniaBeana Scraps has Haunted on sale today at Scrap Matters for Manic Monday. It's a fantastically spooky kit. I scrapped our Halloween pumpkin from 2004. You can see my black kitty - Nefret - in the pictures. She's just perfect for Halloween. Actually, she's second only to Peanut as my baby.
On a side note, as I'm reaching back to scrap some of the pre-Peanut days I realize how few pictures I took before I had her. The pictures go from Halloween to Christmas with none in between!

Halloween Poem Book

So, I'm way behind where I meant to be with this book by now. I'm not sure I'm going to finish by Halloween (eek!). I have two pages done for today. I'm not sure how many I have left to do...

I shared the other side to this page earlier. I was waiting for some new YG copics to arrive so I could color mini Frankenstein from Make It Crafty. I added some fun ribbon/sequins from last year's Halloween stash.
I'd like to enter this page in the following challenges:
1. ICSketches #136 - sketch
2. Crazy Challenge #89 - Halloween
4. Delicious Doodles #4 - Halloween with no orange
6. Sweet Stampin' - Halloween
7. Cupcake Inspirations #133 - I was inspired by the green color on the cake and the Halloween theme.

This page will stand on it's own in the book. I used mini Gothilia from Make It Crafty. I think she's perfect for this quote.
I'd like to enter this page in the following challenges:
2. Magical Monday - Halloween
3. Papertake Weekly - spooky hues
4. ABC Challenge - B for boo
5. Allsorts #126 - Halloween
6. The Crafty Pad #144 - Halloween
7. Divas by Design - something spooky

Colouring Snow at Make It Colourful

There's a week left to enter the Make It Colourful challenge - coloring snow. I thought I would give it a try with some of the great new holiday images that Zoe has available. I used Scruffy and Cold by Light to create my scene. I will admit that I had Barbara's blog post open and was VERY inspired by her coloring. This is the first time I've tried to color the snow rather than coating it in Stickles. It's not as graceful as Barbara's coloring, but I think it's a good first start.

New Calendar Templates from Meredith Cardall

Meredith has two new calendar templates available starting today! They're perfect for digi scrapping your Christmas gifts. I know my mom would LOVE one of these with pictures of Peanut. She has Basic Calendar Templates and the Pretty Calendar Templates:
I combined the September Pretty Calendar Template with Rainbow Wishes to create this fun layout for Peanut's birthday month. When you're done using the calendar, you can cut away the top strip and the bottom calendar portion to have 12"x12" pages for your scrapbook!

We've had a few questions about how to print these. Persnickety Prints will print 12"x18" prints and bind them for you as well.

Miss Anya Bags

With all my sneezing, sniffling, and snorking today, I did manage to get two cards done on my day off. I won Miss Anya Bags a little while ago and I haven't had a chance to play until today. I'm working on a Christmas gift for my aunt with lots of different cards in it. She has a teenage daughter and I thought these cards would be perfect for her to give to her friends. I still have one more to do, but the sneezing got the better of me : )

Here's my first card:
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Farm Fresh - black/white and one other color - I chose green.
3. Simon Says - sparkle and bling
4. Secret Crafter #155 - anything goes as long as it sparkles
5. Pile it On #41 - Just Because

Here's my second card:
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Farm Fresh - Spy Day - Dictionary
2. Totally Gorjuss #101 - ooh la la

An Odd Christmas?

It's been a weekend of sickness in our house - the first cold of the season. I've had a four day weekend, though, and I'd rather be sick at home than at work. I got my first Magnolia stamp club shipment and I haven't even had time/felt well enough to play with it!

I've been playing along with Some Odd Girl's Flickr 12 weeks of Christmas. Week three is brown paper packages tied up with string (kraft and twine). I have to admit, I totally CASE'd Kristy's card. I love the shape and the simple layout. I used SOG's Gifty Gwen, which I just love. She's perfect for the holidays and also for birthday/other present giving occasions. I stamped her on Make it Colour paper and colored her with Copics.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Anything Goes #51 - die cuts/punches
2. Fab 'n Funky #93 - die cuts/punches
3. CES Challenge #57 - seeing red
4. Crafty Cardmakers #53 - anything goes
5. Divas by Design #12 - button up
6. By the Cute and Girly - anything goes
