Sparkly Tilda Box

My mom's birthday is coming up. I was inspired to make a box to hold the present...that I haven't bought yet! I recycled a box that my new computer power cord came in. I cut a hole and put a clear insert that came from a tape container. I had tons of leftover blue sparkle paper from making the invitations for my mom's party.

I colored two mini Tildas and put them on either side of the clear insert. Luckily I had Copics in the right colors to match all that sparkly paper. The "Happy Birthday" that you see is on the
bottom of the box.
You can't see it, but the inside of the box has the same feather boa all around the edges.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
1. Magnolia Down Under #101 - acetate or transparency
2. Totally Tilda #25 - Tilda on anything but a card
3. Crafts and Me #39 - bling it on

Tilda in Pink

This is my last card for tonight. I find that if I don't post right away, I don't get it done : )

I watched three of Zoe's videos to try to understand pleats and folds better. I'm starting to get there, but I need practice, practice, practice. I'll definitely be watching the videos again. I used R81, 83, and 85 for Tilda's dress; E25, E29, and E35 for her hat.

The papers are from JLJ Design's Pink and Chocolate Paper Pack. The sentiment is from My Mind's Eye and was part of a large set that my sister gave me. I added some flowers and a butterfly from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in TOMIC #2 - pink, white and brown.

Paper Pieced Tilda

I found this Tilda in my drawer and realized I'd never used her. I have got to stop buying stamps until I use the ones I have...Too late, I bought some new Tildas at the Tickled Pink Stamps sale today.

I really want to learn to color these pretty stamps with all the shading and creases that folks like Zoe manage. To build up my confidence, I started with a mostly paper pieced image (although I'm really happy with the way her hair turned out). The papers, sentiment, ribbon, and flowers are from my stash. The sentiment says "Life's happiest moments are homemade."

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Just Magnolia #111 - paper piecing
2. Sketchy Colors #75 - sketch
3. Simon Says - Bingo - I used flowers, brads, and sentiment

Because there aren't enough...

...welcome to the world baby horse cards. These are more collaborative cards with my sister. She hangs with a crowd that would like Welcome to the World Baby Horse cards.

We used Lilly Filly from Whimsy Stamps in two color themes - for girl and boy babies : ) I printed a sentiment. For the girl card, I added flowers and JLJ Designs craft pins. The papers are from my stash.

For the boy card, the papers are from Back to
Nature by JLJ Designs. I added the same sentiment and flowers that I cut off a larger "plant" I got at Michael's.

I'd like to enter these cards in the following challenges:
1. IC Sketches #119 - sketch
2. Stamp Something - pretty papers

Sweet Pink Projects

I think I went a little overboard on cute, sweet, and pink this weekend. My first project is a Post-it note pad. I used Sarah Kay's Olivia with her Kittens. I dug this one out of the bottom of the stamp pile. I'd forgotten how much I like her. I stamped the image on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics.

I used posie seam binding and beaded craft pins from JLJ Designs. The flowers and papers are from my stash.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:

2. A Spoon Full of Sugar # 155 - here come summer
3. 7 Kids College Fund - summer with no Maggies
4. Cute Card Thursday #168 - pins and pearls
5. Paper Sundaes #73 - girly girl

For my next project, I altered a little mini watering can I'd found at Michael's. I used mini Tilda with cherries. I glued flowers inside the can and blue rhinestones on the spout.

I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
3. Totally Gorjuss #84 - flower power

For my last project, I have another Post-it note holder. This time, I used a stamp from the Whiff of Joy spring 2011 stamp kit. I stamped her on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics.

My first "Steampunk" card

I've been crafting all weekend, so there may be several posts today. I'm terrible about saving them to post during the week.

I made my first "Steampunk" card today. I put it in quotes since I'm not sure if it's really steampunk. I used Lil Victorian Steampunk Lilith from Tickled Pink Stamps. I painted two lasercut chipboard gears with gold glitter glue from Gears Galore by Make It Crafty. The papers are from my Steampunk digital paper pack.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge: Tickled Pink Challenge #23 - texture

Thank You and a Wedding Card

First, I want to say a BIG thank you to the fabulous Dora! I won her candy several weeks ago. After several emails back and forth, we'd given the candy up for lost in the postal system and were both disappointed. I felt bad because Dora had worked so hard to send it from Malta. She very kindly sent a beautiful card when we thought the package was lost. The card arrived a few days ago and I was so excited. Well, this morning, the missing package was in my mailbox. I'm so excited to start playing. Thank you Dora!
Peanut and Chris are letting me have lots of crafty time this weekend. I've been mainly working on DT projects, but I wanted to make a card to share today.

I've made a wedding card featuring Kiki and Cuthbert from Pollycraft. I have a new favorite color combo for hair/fur after Zoe's fab live coloring classes the other weekend - E50, E53, and 0. I used this on Kiki and Cuthbert. For Cuthbert's vest and hat band and Kiki's dress I used Y21 and Y20 - I like these too.

I used papers and embellies from my stash. The ribbon is dark cream seam binding available at JLJ Designs (99c for 3 yards).
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Pollycraft Monday #96 - love and marriage
3. Craft Your Passion #61 - anything goes
4. Papertake Weekly - anything goes
5. Craft Your Days Away #22 - monochrome

I wanted to play around a little more with yellow and purple after the challenge at Make It Colourful. I also added a shadow around Tilda using warm greys based on a video tutorial. I like the effect.

The chipboard swirl is from Make It Crafty. I used grape seam binding available at JLJ Designs.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. iCopic #33 - brown hair
3. Paper Creations Ink #2 - ribbons or lace - I went with ribbons and lace.
4. Crafts and Me #38 - stamp something
5. Do You Stack Up #23 - birthday

Audrey on Horseback

This is another collaboration card with my sister. She colored Audrey on Horseback from The Stamping Boutique and I made the card. I used a sketch from deconstructing Jen, but I missed entering the challenge. I loved the sketch, perfect for a blue ribbon card! The ribbon is Bright Blue seam binding available at JLJ Designs.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Cupcake Craft #145 - things with tails
2. Do It with Digis #12 - animal magic

June Challenge at The Latte Lounge

I'm behind with this post - sorry! It's a new month and a new challenge at The Latte Lounge! This month the theme is nature/outdoors.

Our sponsors this week are The Stamping Boutique and Digi Design House.

I used a cute Friends digi from The Stamping Boutique. I used all the green Copics I had to color the image : ) The papers are from Back to Nature by JLJ Designs. I went with a simple design and added red and green rhinestones for accents.

Monochromatic Greeting Farm

I wanted to make a going away card for my boss. I thought Cheeky Mate by The Greeting Farm would be perfect. I love this sentiment, particularly for going away cards. Since my boss is a guy, I didn't want it to be too flowery, but I did want to make sure he knew it was from me : )

I colored the image with Copics. I added silver glitter to the hat accents and around her collar. The papers, buttons, and stars are all from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Farm Fresh - Get monochromatic baby!
3. Simon Says - Father's Day/for a male
4. Fussy and Fancy Friday - card for a man or boy

TLL June Kid's Challenge

We're Dreaming of a Sunny Day for the June Kid's Challenge at The Latte Lounge. This month's sponsor, Fresh Brewed Designs, has even included a freebie. Just go to the challenge post to download!

Peanut made her card using Daisy with a Cupcake from Fresh Brewed Designs. She hasn't been that into coloring recently but she did use her favorite red marker on the cupcake. She's allowed to use the glitter and glue by herself, and she likes adding these purple flowers. The stickers were a sweet gift from Sara, and Peanut loves them.

Cast a Shadow with Make It Colourful

This week we're casting a shadow at Make It Colourful. Our sponsor this week is Some Odd Girl.
I had never really tried to color a shadow before this challenge. I looked at LOTS of cards and I thought really hard about where the light was coming from. I imagined the sun in the upper left corner of the image. I colored the side of the house that was in shadow with C3. Then, I started coloring.

The images are Fairy Mae and Bee Tia from Some Odd Girl. I used Mushroom House and Whimsical Mushroom from Make It Crafty. Who would have thought mushrooms would be so perfect? The images are printed on Make It Colour paper, which Zoe has back in stock. Yippee! It's a dream to color on.

This is my second time playing with laser cut chipboard from Make it Crafty. I used Butterflies and Leaves. I painted them with acrylic paints and then added iridescent glitter glue over the paint.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Party Time Tuesday #18 - anything goes
2. Charisma Cardz #22 - something that flies
3. By the Cute and Girly - in the garden

Happy Crafting!
