My First Mail Art

I stumbled across this Mail Art Tutorial on Ziggle Designs blog when I was looking for something to craft on the Scrap Orchard site.  I was inspired and the video really helped me figure out what to do.

Here's the front of the envelope:

Here's the back of the envelope:

Once I had the envelope done, I needed a card to go in it. I  decided to use the same art journal feel for the card.  I remembered these nautical Magnolia stamps that I had in my stash and I thought they'd be perfect for the card.

The card and the envelope both have a hidden door:

Here's the inside - love the "ahoy" word art:

Here's my card featuring rose bunny rabbit from Jellypark.  Peanut was playing around in my craft supplies the other day and found my Skittles from Abusybee.  I had forgotten about them - dangers of too much craft stuff? - and they were perfect for this card.

Tiddly Inks Design Team Call

When I saw Tiddly Inks was having a Design Team call, I knew that I HAD to try. Tiddly Inks is one of my favorite stamp companies!  I had two clear stamps that I'd purchased and hadn't inked up yet, and I knew one of them would be perfect for the call.

After much muddling over which one, I chose Purrfect Birthday - Wryn.  The link is to the digi stamp because the clear ones are on hiatus right now.   I colored first and picked papers second.  Peanut wanted pink and purple - are you surprised from an almost 7 year old girl?  So, pink and purple it is!

I'm still experimenting with purples with Copics.  I like this color combo.  The darks were really moist and seemed to want to run everywhere.  I'll keep working!

Copic recipe:
hair - YR20, YR12, YR14, E15, E59
dress - V000, V01, V04, V06, V09
Shoes and accents - R81, R83, R85, R89

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

Here's my card featuring Balloon Ants by The Doodle Pantry.  I wasn't paying attention to how big the image was when I printed it.  I got it all colored and then realized it was taller than my usual 6"x6" card!  So, I made it work.  Now I just have to figure out an envelope!

Here's my card featuring Hepburn Dress by A Day for Daisies.  I've been working hard on pleats and folds with the Clothing class at Kit and Clowder.  What do you think?  I really like this green combination that I learned in the clothing class.  I dug out all my fancy embellishments for this card to match with the fanciness of the dress.
