Colouring Ground at Make It Colourful

This week at Make It Colourful the challenge is coloring ground. I was inspired by a card that I'd seen on Barbara's (Forgotten Scraps) blog a little while ago and I wanted to try grass for myself.

Zoe gave us a pep talk on the Make It Crafty Facebook group the other day, so I'm not as afraid to say this. This is the best coloring I've ever done. It may not be the best I'll ever do, but that's okay. I often compare myself to the other girls on the MIC team and I get discouraged, but really I should be comparing back to my earlier coloring attempts. Scrolling through my blog, I found these cards - I've come a long way on shading and depth and I'm really proud of that. Well, enough about me. I'm writing this to encourage you to get out your favorite coloring medium and join us in the challenge, if it's your first try or your 100th.

So, now on to my card. I used Pipi who is not yet available in the Make It Crafty store. Zoe gave her as a freebie on the Facebook group to try coloring with no lines (she was already greyed for convenience). I printed her on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics. I added grass using thin lines with three shades of green and then added in little pink flowers to match the flowers in her hair. Her hair is my current favorite color combo, it reminds me of Peanut's hair and caramels.
Copic Recipe
Dress BG11, BG13, BG15
Skin E00, E01, E11, R20
Hair (my current favorite color combo) E31, E53, E35
Flowers R81, R83, R85
Grass G12, G14, G16

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

1. Copic Creations #56 - blue greens - I used BG11, BG13, and BG15 for her dress

2. Craft Us Crazy #15 - anything goes

Happy Crafting!

This is great and just as good as anyone else with no lines - fabulous!! And when you compare it to your old stuff then I'd say you're a pro - you've come so far and I love being on the same team(s)! This image is so cute and you did an excellent job on the hair - gorgeous! *Hugs

Jen, I really LOVE your colouring here....the hair is gorgeous especially the way you can see the individual strokes/hair strands, but the flowers are my favourite bit - they look like they've been done with the strokes of a paint brush. You're right about only comparing ourselves to our earlier efforts, it's good to look back on our older cards and see how far we've come. CoB
