Decorating the Inside with Anthony and Burt

Hi all!  I have a new Anthony and Burt card for you. I used Anthony and Burt Hope You Feel Better Soon!  For this card, I colored the image first with Spectrum Noir markers and then went to my stash to find papers.  I generally use a background paper and two other papers.  I cut the accent papers into squares/rectangles based on the amount of paper that I have.  I find that if I mat each paper and the image it really ties the card together.

Spectum Noir Recipe: DG2, DG4, IG1, IG2, GB5, LV1, LV2

To decorate the inside, I just cut two sets of the papers that I'm cutting for the front.  Then I cut a 3"x3" square to write a message on.  I generally place the papers in the same location as they are on the front, adjusting placement until I like the look.  My writing square is often smaller than the image, so it changes the look of the paper placement.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Phindy's Place #94 - get well soon
2. Raise the Bar #93 - purple + green + one other color (I used yellow)
3. Cute Card Thursday #205 - winged things

MIC - Autumn Colors

This fortnight's challenge at Make It Colourful is coloring autumn colors.  When I think of autumn, I think red, brown, and orange.  I used Aussie Outback Sheila for my card.  She looks so powerful and confident.  Looking at the sample at MIC, I see that her shirt is supposed to be open, but I thought she was wearing a bandana, so I colored the opening with orange.  I added some fall colored papers and flowers/leaves from my stash.
Copic Recipe
hair E13, E17, E19
boots, hat YR20, YR21
skin E00, E01
pants E25, E47, E29
shirt R22, R24, R27
bandana YR04, YR18

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Lollipop #68 - anything goes

Anthony and Burt and a Spectrum Noir journal

Before I get started today, it's time for a new giveaway at the Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog.  All you have to do is leave a comment on the giveaway post.  You still have time to enter this month's challenge - something sweet.

I've been playing with the new Crafter's Companion Anthony and Burt images and my Spectrum Noir markers.  I'm going to start today with my card and then back-up to the new Spectrum Noir journal that I've created.

I love this stamp and the sentiment is so sweet.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers.  The card is 4 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall.  I trimmed all the corners of my paper to give a softer look.  I added glitter all around the image and sentiment to make it stand out.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Divas by Design #22 - wings and things
2. Paperplay #7 - critters
3. Alphabet Challenge - A for Animal Antics
4. Truly Scrumptious #74 - all creatures great and small

I've been playing with the Spectrum Noir markers.  I wanted to practice coloring and also have some place to keep all the color families that came with the markers.  I started with a store-bought journal that's 5" by 5 1/2" images - perfect for most Crafter's Companion stamps.  I cut out the Spectrum Noir logo from the packaging and added it to the front.

I cut out each of the color families that comes on the marker packaging and glued them inside the front and back covers.  I had a few extra and had to use the last page as well.  This way I have them when I want to color.

I colored the image on my card twice.  The first image was for practice and I taped it into my new journal.  I added the colors that I used along the sides so I can refer back to them later.

I couldn't resist so I added my favorite Strawberry Kisses stamp - Together.  I love yellow and turquoise together.  I used this yellow set in both of my images because I love the color and it's really easy to blend.

DON'T FORGET - The Crafter's Companion Design team has a contest going on between the designers and you can win too!  If you live in the US (sorry it's not open internationally  :(), consider becoming a follower of the CC Blog.  If you do become a follower, email Bindy (bindy@crafterscompanion.com) and say:

Color Card Caravan Challenge at The Hybrid Chick

Please scroll down for my Cupcake Inspirations card.

I'm so excited to have my first card for The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan!  This week we have a color challenge.

I love the color palette and Affirmation from elise's Pieces was a perfect kit to use.  I printed papers and elements.  I paper pieced Canary Love by Saturated Canary using the papers from the scrapbook kit.  I cut out the printed elements to embellish my card.  I love the way the banner looks folded, but it's really a flat piece of paper.  One of the great things about the digi kits is that you can add complicated stitching to your project very easily.  I added stitching to the journal card and printed it out.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Fussy and Fancy Friday #56 - with all my heart
2. Craft Your Days Away #39 - paper piecing
3. 2 Sisters #79 - stitching
4. By the Cute and Girly - love is in the air
5. Joanna Sheen Challenge - love is in the air

Fuchsia for Friendship

Today, I have a new project featuring the new Paint Fusion stamps.  Last week, I played with the Paint Fusion technique and had so much fun.  This week, I wanted to show the versatility of these stamps and play with my Spectrum Noir markers.   For my card, I stamped the images on my cardstock.  I layered the fuchsia and leaf with a background and sentiment from the Kanji stamp line.

I used digi papers from the Tranquil Moments Collab at Brownie Scraps to create the background that I wanted.  Then I ran the stamped images through my printer aligning my digi paper layout with the location of the stamps.  I used the same masking technique with sticky notes that I used to layer the stamps themselves.  I layered my printed topper with brown and turquoise cardstock.

Spectrum Noir Recipe
Leaf: DG3, JG6
Purple Petals: LV1, LV2, LV3
Pink Petals: PP3, PP5, DR3

Since I'm still learning the Spectrum Noir system, I watched the instructional video, particularly the section on coloring flowers.  I used the sheet that comes with the Paint Fusion stamps to guide my color choices.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Crafts and Me #68 - use a new image
2. Crafty Purple Frog - flower power

Here are the products I used for this project:
