Creating My Own Background

I rarely get to play in the TOMIC because work interferes with getting a project done. The holiday Monday changed all that! I made my own background using crumpled tissue paper, a doily, glitter Modge Podge and some distress ink. The cardboard behind Edwin and Tilda is recycled from a waffle box. I played around with my Prisma Pencils to color the image. I'm in a bit of a Copic funk right now, so I thought I'd give them another try and I'm really loving them!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. TOMIC #14 - make your own background
2. Allsorts #119 - green and blue

TCC Sept Progressive Challenge Week 1

We're going to be celebrating all month long at The Crafter's Cafe. Have you seen the amazing blog candy available just for being a member? We'll be announcing the winner at our September Digi Day, which will be filled with games fun and challenges. JLJ Designs is sponsoring a digi paper challenge all month - anything goes as long as you use digi paper.

My card for the first week of our progressive challenge would fit right in at the digi paper challenge, too! I made my own template in PSE then added papers from my A Boy's Life Minikit. I layered on Spaceship from The Stamping Boutique. I added two robots from the kit and Have a Blast from The Stamping Boutique to the bottom of my printed page. I printed the whole thing out, colored the images with Copics, and cut out the robots and sentiment. I used pop dots to make the robots and sentiment stand out. I added lots of glitter to finish the card.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

1. Birthday Sundaes #25 - birthday card

2. iCopic #46 - glitter

Circle Journal - Back Cover

I'm working my way through all the pages I need to do on my circle journal. I've been finding sketches and challenges for inspiration. Lots of decorating to be done! This is the back cover. I used Daisy's Cupcake from Fresh Brewed Designs. I printed her on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics. I tried creating some polka dots on her top with the Colorless Blender. Not sure how well that worked.
I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
1. Paper Sundaes #85 - sketch by Lisa
2. Cupcake Inspirations #126 - I was inspired by the bright colors and polka dots.
3. Fresh Brewed at TCC - show your Fresh Brewed style
4. Crafting When We Can #1 - anything goes
5. Cardmad Fairy's Digi Days #16 - add flowers

Fresh Brewed Designs Exciting Event!

Fresh Brewed Designs is having a blog hop on Sept 8th to celebrate their new release. Heather is having a bonus challenge at The Crafter's Cafe - make a card featuring coffee. So easy with Heather's yummy images.

I made a new card with Sweet Crush from Fresh Brewed Designs. I colored the image with Prisma Pencils and I was inspired by this tutorial. I don't use my pencils often enough, but I thought they were perfect for this image.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
3. Tuesday Throwdown #64 - punny sentiment
4. Stamp Something - September digi day
5. Corrosive Challenge #132 - funny or punny

Finally, I'd like to thank Audrey. I won the bonus candy on her blog. Thanks Audrey!

This week at Make It Colourful we're going no lines. Stamp with light ink or reduce the opacity of your digi. We're doing things a bit differently too. Zoe has set up a fantastic gallery to house all the challenge entries.

Journal Pages

I'm participating in a circle journal at The Crafter's Cafe and I've been working on my cover pages. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to share in advance, but I decided to just go for it.

Here's the cover of my journal. I merged Sitting Annalise and the Kitchen Island from Make It Crafty. The theme is recipes, so I made my kitchen. It's funny to me because DH does most of the cooking. You can see that I'm sitting on a stool rather than cooking behind the counter :) The papers are from my new paper pack - Rustic Romance. I made this paper pack so I could do my journal in a consistent color theme. I added some chipboard from a Cardmaking and Papercraft freebie. They're perfect for this journal. I finished it off with glitter - I love glitter!
I'd like to enter this journal cover in the following challenges:
1. Papertake Weekly - Dawny's sketch
2. Charisma Cardz Challenge #35 - anything goes

Here's the inside back cover to thank everyone in the circle. I used a Clear Dollar Stamp and sentiment from the Help for Katie set. The papers are part of the Rustic Romance set.
I'd like to enter this journal page in the following challenges:
1. Deconstructed Sketch - sketch #17
2. Sweet Stampin #27 - stawberry, chocolate and cream

JLJ Designs Digi Paper Challenge at The Crafter's Cafe

I'm trying something new this month in the JLJ Designs group at The Crafter's Cafe. We're having a Digi Paper Challenge for the month of September. The challenge this month is Anything Goes, as long as you use digi papers. They don't need to be JLJ Designs Digi Papers to play.

I'm featuring the Stacie Digital Paper Pack this month and it's on sale all month for 25% off! Use the coupon code STACIESEPT2011 to get the discount.
I've made a card using the Stacie Digital Paper Pack combined with Cards Vol 5: Cut Down by Wendybird Designs. Hybrid templates are a great way to use digital papers. I added three digital stamps Monster Dreams and Monster Balloons from Little Miss Muffet Designs and the Birthday Set from The Stamping Boutique. I added the images to the template so this printed out as one sheet of paper.
Here's the inside:
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
2. Totally Gorjuss #95 - as you like it

We hope you'll join us this month for our challenge.
