Journaling:
Peanut and I went to NYC and PA for our yearly fall visit. We went to the Children's Museum, which Peanut really liked. It was very crowded since it was a holiday. We drove up to PA for the weekend and had fun with Cousin Lilly. It was a little scary when Great-Gram got sick, but she got better shortly afterward. A quick trip up and back, but a fun mommy-daughter time.

Paper Piecing

I always forget how much I like paper piecing until I get inspired by a challenge. I hadn't really tried to paper piece a digi stamp before, though. To create an outfit for Sunny Tia, I removed her white background and then layered the outline over several squares of digi paper and printed them out. From there, it's just like paper piecing with a rubber stamp. All of the papers are from my Black and Turquoise Paper Pack. I added glitter and bling to finish the card.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Some Odd Girl - paper piecing
3. Charisma Cardz #34 - glitter it
4. Polkadoodle #34 - spots and dots
5. Pile It On #35 - girls just wanna have fun

Make It Colourful - Sunset with Clouds

This week's challenge at Make It Colourful is coloring sunsets with clouds. We're sponsored this week by Tiddly Inks.
I was a little intimidated by this challenge, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I used Tropical Beach and added Summer Dreams to the scene. Tropical Beach already had clouds drawn in, so I thought that might be a good place to start. From there, I just started blending in pinks, oranges, and the warm grays. I added chippies from the new Hawaiian Beach set and covered them with glitter. I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday #169.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
2. Craft Us Crazy #15 - Anything goes
3. Fun with Shapes #90 - water

Paper Dolls

The new challenge at The Greeting Farm inspired me today. To be the next Farm Fashionista, paper dolls called to me. All of these girls are digis available from The Greeting Farm - Catcher Anya, WS Dressy Ebony, Country Anya, Ballet Anya, WS Audrey, and HG Rain Rain. I printed them all on Make It Colour paper and colored them with Copics. Then I printed each one on digi paper and made a pattened outfit for each one. You can see them laying in front of the paper dolls. All of the digi papers are from JLJ Designs except Ballet Anya's dress, which is from Designz by DeDe.
I made a little book by recycling frozen waffle and granola bar boxes. All of the papers in the book are JLJ Designs. I have a bunch of my digi papers printed out, so I just started using up scraps.
Here's the front. The flap was part of the granola box and it worked just perfectly.
Peanut will be enjoying these paper dolls shortly.

Little Miss Muffet New Release

Barbara has some cuties for the Little Miss Muffet new release this week. My first card features Summer Monkey. I colored him with Copics on Make It Colour paper. I went for a clean and simple layout since I thought this would be great for a little boy's birthday.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. iCopic - all about children
2. One Stop Craft Challenge #145 - bold and bright
3. Pile It On #34 - sweet treats

My second card features Paprika. I guess I was on a red and yellow kick. I made my first banner for this card, just cut some triangles free hand. I went with a simple layout again. Paprika is printed on Make It Colour paper and colored with Copics.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Crafts 4 Eternity #33 - at least one flags, tickets or tags
2. CES Challenges #50 - banners, bunting, and flags
4. Paper Sundaes #83 - sundae bar - I used buttons, twine, and banner.
5. Crafty Calendar August - hot colors

Squeezed in a Card Tonight

I was able to squeeze in a card this evening. Peanut was happy to color with me, so that makes it much easier. DH and Peanut got me two new Tildas for my birthday and I hadn't had a chance to play with them - Cowgirl Tilda is one of them. Isn't she cute? I colored her with Copics on Make It Colour paper. The papers came from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Simon Says - use Dawny's sketch
2. Just Magnolia #120 - sentiment

Journaling: We went to a pioneer day festival at the park. We thought Peanut would enjoy the activities. She liked starting the crafts, but she wasn't so keen on finishing them. We didn't count on how cold it was that day. She had to keep moving or she became a kid-sicle. So, she started the crafts and I finished them. Together we made a felt gingerbread man ornament, a rag doll, and a clay pendant.

Digi Dare #240 - breakfast

So, when I saw this week's Digi Dare, I thought I would take pictures of us eating breakfast on the weekend. You would not believe what went wrong with a simple pancake breakfast. The good news it makes for great scrapping : )

Heart Journal Week 5

This week the Heart Journal challenge is pieces of me - layering and paper piecing. I was drawn to paper dolls and I found some vintage ones on the internet. I used the scrap pieces of paper that were laying around from my cards this week and made a background and then added the paper dolls.

Colouring Ground at Make It Colourful

This week at Make It Colourful the challenge is coloring ground. I was inspired by a card that I'd seen on Barbara's (Forgotten Scraps) blog a little while ago and I wanted to try grass for myself.

Zoe gave us a pep talk on the Make It Crafty Facebook group the other day, so I'm not as afraid to say this. This is the best coloring I've ever done. It may not be the best I'll ever do, but that's okay. I often compare myself to the other girls on the MIC team and I get discouraged, but really I should be comparing back to my earlier coloring attempts. Scrolling through my blog, I found these cards - I've come a long way on shading and depth and I'm really proud of that. Well, enough about me. I'm writing this to encourage you to get out your favorite coloring medium and join us in the challenge, if it's your first try or your 100th.

So, now on to my card. I used Pipi who is not yet available in the Make It Crafty store. Zoe gave her as a freebie on the Facebook group to try coloring with no lines (she was already greyed for convenience). I printed her on Make It Colour paper and colored her with Copics. I added grass using thin lines with three shades of green and then added in little pink flowers to match the flowers in her hair. Her hair is my current favorite color combo, it reminds me of Peanut's hair and caramels.
Copic Recipe
Dress BG11, BG13, BG15
Skin E00, E01, E11, R20
Hair (my current favorite color combo) E31, E53, E35
Flowers R81, R83, R85
Grass G12, G14, G16

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

1. Copic Creations #56 - blue greens - I used BG11, BG13, and BG15 for her dress

2. Craft Us Crazy #15 - anything goes

Fish Out Of Water

I was feeling a little down the other day when Meredith showed us this great kit, Fish Out of Water, and I thought the word art would be perfect for a pick-me-up. I designed the inside and outside of the post-it note holder using iScrapbook. I printed it out along with the flower and stars. I glued the inside and outside together. I cut out the flowers and stars and put the stars on with pop dots and the flower on with a small piece of wire so it pops out. I added the post-it notes and there you go.
I'd like to enter this project in the following challenges:
1. Craft Your Passion #71 - anything but a card
2. Paper Crafting Journey #17 - anything goes

Little Miss Muffet #16 Use Multiple Stamps

It's my second challenge as a guest designer with Little Miss Muffet Stamps. This week's challenge is to use multiple stamps. I decided to totally decorate a card. For the front I merged all of Little Miss Muffet's The Hatters with the Crooked Picket Fence from Make It Crafty. The papers are all DCWV.
I colored three of the four hatters in a larger size and used them to decorate each page. Here's the inside of the card:
Here's the back side of the card:
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. The Crafty Pad #134 - cute and girly
2. Tuesday Throwdown #62 - non-stamped sentiment - I used stickers from my stash to create mine.
3. Paper Playtime #53 - anything goes

Bunch 'o Stuff

First things first, you have a few hours left to enter my blog candy!

Second things, I made a purple and lemon Tilda card. I wanted to try pleats and folds on a non-straight dress and work with my purple Copics. I wasn't happy with the way they blend together. I don't have the folds quite the way I want, but I am now happier with purple markers. Then I went for a complimentary color in yellow. I colored her socks first and had to ask DH if they looked like "pee" socks, but things got better when I added more yellow : ) Probably more of a story than you wanted. I went clean and simple on this card, with the addition of just a few lace doilies.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
1. Magnolia-licious Highlites - use only paper
2. Some Odd Girl - complimentary colors - I used violet and yellow.
3. Totally Tilda #29 - fit for a princess

Third things, here's my journal page for the Week 4 Heart Journal with The Greeting Farm. The theme this week is The Girl in Me. I thought it would be fun to image my life in digi stamps. I used Bride Mae and Baby Snuggle Kaylee from Some Odd Girl, Isabelle and Belle from Little Miss Muffet Stamps, Zoe All Excited from Make It Crafty, Sonny Honeycloud - Poetry from Pollycraft, and 50s Sweetheart from The Greeting Farm. I put them in order of my life, me born, me as a schoolgirl, meeting DH, getting married, graduating with my PhD, and having Peanut. You may be wondering why Zoe is all dressed in orange. These are not my school colors. I was reading about academic degree colors and engineering is orange. If I'd read further, I would have discovered that a Ph.D. should be blue, regardless of the field. I like blue better, too, but she was already colored.
