I have two cards to share today, neither of which use the recipe! It's too easy for me to get distracted in the craft room : )

Here's my second big project as promised. This one is an Asian themed travel journal. I really love the Bon Voyage Tildas, particularly the Asian inspired ones. I got a journal from Michael's and went to town.
Here's the back cover. I fell in love with the Japanese set from Prairie Fairy and had to get them. I replaced the drawn strings with baker's twine.
I was busy in the craft room yesterday. I wanted to try some new things and some new papers. I have two projects to show. I'm going to show the first one in this post and then the next one in the next post 'cause I can't wait to share when I get things done!

So, that's the whole book! I'm glad you hung in with me to the end. I'd like to enter the whole project in the following challenges:
Here's a close-up of the images.
THE CARNIVAL!!
Hopefully you have just hopped on over from Mindy. If you just popped on by to say Hi and want to join us on the super carnival hop then you’ll want to ‘START HERE’
Zoe from Make it Crafty and Mo from Mo’s Digital Pencil, came together to share the delight and fun of The Carnival. To celebrate - the two fabulously talented teams have come together for a massive blog hop to offer you plenty of inspiration when playing with these images.
Along the way you will find balloons with a letter in them. Write down the letters as you go because at the very end we want you to guess what the saying is!
There will be THREE grand prizes randomly drawn from the correct answers PLUS there will be hidden prizes along the way so make sure you leave some love as you hop along!
Now we know this is a super big hop, but we wanted to make sure you would get LOTS of inspiration! The hop will be open until the 28thApril so you will have plenty of time to come back each day with a Diet Coke (or caffeinated beverage of your choice) to soak it all up! (Just don’t lose the letters you have been collecting!)
We would like to thank our fabulous sponsors, Mo’s Digital Pencil, Make it Crafty, Stamping Bella and Quixotic Paperie for providing the fabulous prizes for this grand carnival hop!
In case you have trouble seeing my balloon – my letter is “F”. I hope not, I couldn't think of a good hiding place, so it's just here : ) Make sure you leave a comment for a ‘possible’ chance at winning some hidden treasure and then your next stop on the hop is Tracy.
(2nd post) Two Tickled Pink cards for this post. For the first one, I had to get Pinkette August - I love her listening to tunes and she's named after my birthday month! I tried to choose some fresh colors for this tween card. I like aqua and purple together. I colored the image using Copics. I added scraps of paper from my stash, purple ribbon, and purple flowers.
For my second card, I have Candy Cane Cherrie. I wanted to do a girlie Christmas card because the jingle bells in my gift wrap box were pink - left over from a project last year : ) I colored her with Copics. I added pink organza ribbon and a pink jingle bell.
Which one in the title is not an acronym : ) For this card, I have a Some Odd Girl (SOG) Clean and Simple (CAS) Card. I used SOG kite flying Tobie. I'm experimenting with hair colors and this one isn't my favorite. Oh well, you have to try new things. The card is embossed, although it's hard to see in the picture.
I wanted to play with the chick images from Fresh Brewed Designs a little more before Easter. The sentiment is also from Fresh Brewed Designs. I love this little chick with the bunny ears. I colored the image with Copics. I tried adding some grey to shadow the ears.

I'm hardly waiting for my Make It Colour Blending Paper to arrive. When I first started coloring, I couldn't figure out what the big deal with paper was. I buy #110 cardstock from Office Depot by the ream. Now that I'm really trying to work on my coloring, I'm getting frustrated by the way the paper bleeds and can be hard to blend. Time to start looking at more papers!
I spent most of this weekend at a craft show and uploading products into my new Artfire Store (more about that later), so I haven't had much time to play.
The Tickled Pink Facebook challenge this month is to make a post-it note holder. Jess very nicely provided an easy to follow Tutorial. I used Lil Lad Eric and Basic Grey paper. I colored Eric using Copics.
